Monday morning we had a little bit of homeschooling. Songs, a story, fishing...for words/pictures that start with I. You can't really see in the picture...but I have Rosa squished behind the couch...putting on the "fish". We take turns!!!
Painting with ice cubes. They put little drops of paint on their paper...and then spread it all around with the ice!!!
This morning during school the kids had fun! I had one child blind folded and another child across the room with a little music shaker. The one with the shaker made the noise...while I had the other one crawl over to the noise. They were really good...I had to make it more difficult as time went on. But they LOVED it!!!
We also pre made some ice cubes and put some fruit in...some strawberries and kiwi. Watched them melt for a couple of minutes...then I let me eat them!
At one point in the morning the kids were just playing before snack time. I turn around and Jonathan and Michael each had a broom and Sierra had a dust pan...the dust pans here in Spain have a short stick that goes straight up from the pan as a handle...not sure how to explain it. But anyway Sierra was singing with the dust pan and the boys were playing their guitars. Then Sierra decided that she needed to talk a little to the congregation (Peter & I)...in part gibberish and a few Spanish words. Then she stopped talking and they all started singing at the top of their lungs...in a language of their own!!!
Making some cool crayons!!!
Sierra can seriously sing about anything and everything!!!! I will be in my room and they have been in bed for a little bit...She will sing about how she really wants mommy to come in and give her a hug. Or how her (stuffed) dogie needs a little vinegar cause he bit Michael...whatever really pops into her head REALLY. Today we were driving in their van and Rosa had mentioned that a friends mother had passed away. Sierra sang about how our friend was sad and how her mommy died...that turned into that she died on the cross for our sins...we told her that only Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that her mommy died cause she got really old. Then Sierra turns around and starts singing it all again and then corrected her song to say...only Jesus died for our sins. It was so very hard not to giggle...yes a sad situation...but Sierra's version. Priceless.
Jonathan's cowboy hat...Or so he tells me :) And those sun glasses...are sooo scratched up you can't bearly see through them. But they are his favorite!!! The hat too.
After nap time the other day. I decided it would be fun to have a picnic snack. Yogurt, Strawberries, crackers, and lemonade.
Today has been one of those days....Michael!!! humm. Well to say the least...I am not afraid of asking him what is in his mouth and... and then just put my fingers in his mouth and pick out whatever it may be. Three times today...plastic bubble wrap, a strip of white paper, and a red bead (from Sierra's hair scrunchy) that he had broken into pieces in his mouth. I am starting to notice even when he is across the room I know something is fishy!!!
I was on the porch earlier and Sierra was out there on her own. She told me she was "berry sad". She explained to me that she has a son named Ened and a daughter Ensu (it was hard to get the right name...cause she changed them every so often). Anyway, these grown up children she has are in America. She is "berry sad" cause she misses them so much. The story eventually evolved...and now she has a sister and two grown up brothers (with different names that all start with the letter E)...and they have children as well. She tells all this to me as she sits cross-legged on a chair...telling all this to me in a very grown up tone. :)
Thursday morning I was free for the morning. So I went down to the beach. Got a nice little sun burn! Went and had my first taste of Tapas. Tapas are pretty much like appetisers. So I have some water and order some mixed tapas...on the menu all it says is "Mixed Tapas"...so I had no idea what I was getting...it never said what was in it. WELL!!! Ummm well. Seafood...it's not something I grew up with and I am not that fond of it...especially the fish taste. I was not going to give it back and say I wanted to order something else. I was also taught that I need to eat what is in front of me...or at least try it. Sooo here it goes....a little taste of octopus, some little slices of fish, crab, shrimp, and a couple things I have seen before but not sure what their called. And three tiny pieces of chicken!!! I will have to say it all was not that bad...and really didn't have a fishy taste. And the octopus was for sure dead...it was only like 3 little bites in a salad.
Random fact. Spaniards put vinegar and olive oil on everything!!!!
