The Beach

Now there are not many people who can say that they have had a HUGE garbage bin on wheels come barrelling down the hill toward them. It was super windy day and I was heading to the train with Rosa and we the triplets in the stroller. All of a sudden I hear a couple of guys behind us yelling and whistling desperately trying to get our attention. Yes this thing was coming straight for us in a hurry!!! I turned around unaware what was going on...and then I saw it in the distance...but then I seen that it would hit the sidewalk that was sticking out. It toppled down with a bang...and we all took a sigh of relief!  It would have been quit the story...how did you get hurt? Well!!! I got ran over by a Huge garbage bin. hahaha!!!! You would never believe me...

This week there was a little baby boy born to a lovely couple I had the privilege to meet. I got to hold little Abner at three days old. Such a beautiful little guy! Babies are such a miracle and blessing from God.

We all (the Smiths & I) went to the beach the other day. Intending to play in the sand and the playground....and just put our toes in the water cause the water is not warm enough for swimming yet. And didn't bring swim suits. Not intending to get soaked! HA!!! HA!!! Funny!

All of them! And David in the background...stayed far enough away to not get wet!

We eventually just took their shorts off...but we should have just let them run in their underwear!!

My little sand crabs

I am not sure how much sand we actually left at the beach.  So grateful for the water station thing that we washed off at. These kids had sand and water on them from head to toe. But had lots of fun doing it.

Some other random pictures from this week!
Making Caterpillars. After a bit Sierra wanted to put a dress on hers and the boys wanted capes.

Fun in a Bucket

The transportation system here is a great way to find friends. I now have another new friend from Canada and another one from the States. Also on Saturday I was on my way to Marbella on the bus and I sat beside a gentlemen in his 50's on vacation from Ireland. I was praying that someone good would sit beside me...I was getting a little antsy sitting there by myself with some rather interesting characters on the bus with me.
Now the driving time to Marbella is only a half hour from Fuengriola...BUT when you ride the bus...it's 1 hour and 15min...that's what it said on the bus schedule...I was a little sceptical. Well!!! I know why now! That bus stopped every half mile!. There seriously is a bus stop in places where there is not a living soul. The people that got on the bus in those spots...Must have come out of the wood work somewhere! SO now I know why it takes 1 hour and 15mins!!!! :)

Here are a few random pictures from Marbella

We didn't eat here...But how did they know I like my steak medium rare?!! ;)

This is what my friend had. Looked good. Messy! but she ate it with style!

A couple stories from eating at this place. So as we sit there chatting after we finished lunch. I got a little distracted by the two restaurant employees trying to carrel this big pigeon and get it out of the eating area. Both people are crouched down just about to get him...Then the bird all of a sudden finds his wings...and gets out of there...while leaving the two people startled and scrambling to their feet. It was funny...you just had to see it!

Then not long after that I just happened to spot a guy over my friends shoulder...squeezing a lemon over his paella...and the whole lemon flung right into his face. I know it's not funny...but it was!!! He sat there with a bunch of his buddies...who didn't really notice. Then this guy looked slightly around to see if anyone else had seen. Just me!!! :)

Before we left the restaurant I had to use the little girls room. I asked were it is was...O...I only had to walk past the cash register, through the kitchen, to the back of the restaurant. Thankfully it was a clean bathroom...and actually had toilet paper. But No soap!!! hum well...I did peek in the guys bathroom and they had a little bit...but it felt a little weird going in there to get soap. SO I looked around...since I was the kitchen area...I found some dish soap...looked around again to see if anyone was looking...and got me some soap!!! My goodness ...soooo many sanitary issues going on there. Not so sure I will be back to that restaurant.

This is very random...But there is no words really...when you walk past a man in a nun outfit.

After church today my friend and I went looking for a cheap place to get some lunch. We came to one and we both ordered a Danish hot dog. It was ok. So I have never been in a restaurant so laid back. They brought out the condiments...not little bottles. honkin big jugs. What made the visit more memorable was the guy that looked to be the owner. YA definitely looked like my Uncle Donald...even his mannerisms. Same sense of humor too! Ya a good memory...love ya Uncle Donald.

Mijas

As I write this all three kids are playing in the closet...don't worry I am close by watching...sitting on Sierra's bed...with my lap top. I was just thinking... I have somehow gained a new set of eyes on the back of my head. I know exactly what they are getting into...without even facing them!!!! I am somehow having to use a part of my brain that has not had this much use before. It's a "Nanny Brain" on overload!!!!
I know this looks gross...it's just body soap in zip lock bags...a sensory thing

Mr. Michael

We made a Volcano....we all had lots of fun!!!

So Peter is the triplets little friend who is a couple months older than them. On Monday he was quit the character. At least three or 4 times he said..."Miss Sarah...your kids...(insert something)." His mom and I just laughed so hard.
Also as we were driving down the road with Peter with us...He turns to Sierra who was sitting next to him. He says while showing her his arms "Look at my muscles!!!!!" and pats her on the head gently. Sooo funny!!!!

Tonight when were pretty well finished supper. All three kids were running around. There is a door that connects between the dinning room/living room and the front entrance/kitchen...hard to explain. But anyway. Jonathan was on one side trying to get into the dining room...and Sierra and Michael were on the other side leaning with their backs against the door so he wouldn't come in. Then with great joy they start to smile/giggle and clap their hands...completely amused that they had locked Jonathan out. Meanwhile Jonathan is not completely enjoying it!! But then it turned into a game...and they all had a turn on each side of the door.

Nispero...there are lots of trees here with this fruit. It tastes really good.

Saturday I had a little adventure to Mijas (in English is sounds like Mehas). I had a couple other friends come along. We met up around 10:30 am...and we were on our way in the car. We did not get to far...when the car would not get into gear...and was starting to smell. Random fact: All vehicles in Spain are standard. SO we pulled over and called for help. Our wonderful friends came to the rescue... and when they convinced us that they had everything under control...they insisted that we still get on the train and got to Mijas. So we did...but we also brought them back something from the chocolate shop.
We had a really great time once we got there. It's absolutely beautiful. It's not really that far from here at all. A 19 min train ride plus a 10 min bus ride. I will be back!!!

Yes it's exactly what the sign says

We ate at a cute little restaurant call "The Secret Garden". Really good food. Also there really was a secret garden. We went through the door and seen a portion that looked like any other restaurant...kept walking and there was a room that was much like a garden and all the tables were full...so we followed the waiter through a little door and up some stairs to another fair size garden. It was really beautiful and quiet. Well except for the rooster that lives on the other side of the stone wall. That rooster brought back memories of being in Haiti!!
