This week there was a little baby boy born to a lovely couple I had the privilege to meet. I got to hold little Abner at three days old. Such a beautiful little guy! Babies are such a miracle and blessing from God.
We all (the Smiths & I) went to the beach the other day. Intending to play in the sand and the playground....and just put our toes in the water cause the water is not warm enough for swimming yet. And didn't bring swim suits. Not intending to get soaked! HA!!! HA!!! Funny!
All of them! And David in the background...stayed far enough away to not get wet!
We eventually just took their shorts off...but we should have just let them run in their underwear!!
My little sand crabs
I am not sure how much sand we actually left at the beach. So grateful for the water station thing that we washed off at. These kids had sand and water on them from head to toe. But had lots of fun doing it.
Some other random pictures from this week!
Making Caterpillars. After a bit Sierra wanted to put a dress on hers and the boys wanted capes.
Fun in a Bucket
The transportation system here is a great way to find friends. I now have another new friend from Canada and another one from the States. Also on Saturday I was on my way to Marbella on the bus and I sat beside a gentlemen in his 50's on vacation from Ireland. I was praying that someone good would sit beside me...I was getting a little antsy sitting there by myself with some rather interesting characters on the bus with me.
Now the driving time to Marbella is only a half hour from Fuengriola...BUT when you ride the bus...it's 1 hour and 15min...that's what it said on the bus schedule...I was a little sceptical. Well!!! I know why now! That bus stopped every half mile!. There seriously is a bus stop in places where there is not a living soul. The people that got on the bus in those spots...Must have come out of the wood work somewhere! SO now I know why it takes 1 hour and 15mins!!!! :)
Here are a few random pictures from Marbella
We didn't eat here...But how did they know I like my steak medium rare?!! ;)
This is what my friend had. Looked good. Messy! but she ate it with style!
A couple stories from eating at this place. So as we sit there chatting after we finished lunch. I got a little distracted by the two restaurant employees trying to carrel this big pigeon and get it out of the eating area. Both people are crouched down just about to get him...Then the bird all of a sudden finds his wings...and gets out of there...while leaving the two people startled and scrambling to their feet. It was funny...you just had to see it!Then not long after that I just happened to spot a guy over my friends shoulder...squeezing a lemon over his paella...and the whole lemon flung right into his face. I know it's not funny...but it was!!! He sat there with a bunch of his buddies...who didn't really notice. Then this guy looked slightly around to see if anyone else had seen. Just me!!! :)
Before we left the restaurant I had to use the little girls room. I asked were it is was...O...I only had to walk past the cash register, through the kitchen, to the back of the restaurant. Thankfully it was a clean bathroom...and actually had toilet paper. But No soap!!! hum well...I did peek in the guys bathroom and they had a little bit...but it felt a little weird going in there to get soap. SO I looked around...since I was the kitchen area...I found some dish soap...looked around again to see if anyone was looking...and got me some soap!!! My goodness ...soooo many sanitary issues going on there. Not so sure I will be back to that restaurant.
After church today my friend and I went looking for a cheap place to get some lunch. We came to one and we both ordered a Danish hot dog. It was ok. So I have never been in a restaurant so laid back. They brought out the condiments...not little bottles. honkin big jugs. What made the visit more memorable was the guy that looked to be the owner. YA definitely looked like my Uncle Donald...even his mannerisms. Same sense of humor too! Ya a good memory...love ya Uncle Donald.
