Stomach Flu

This week has been a bit rough with both boys having the stomach flu...Poor munchkins :(
Then they were so very kind to pass it on to me!!! It was only a 24 hour thing which I am grateful for but it is still no fun. So there really is not a lot to write about this week...without grossing everyone out with Flu stories! So I will save you from the nitty gritty :)
I'm glad Sierra feels all right as rain...right now anyway!!

So...you might think it's strange but true...I went into an Ikea store for the second time in my life. Wow! Impressive. Ooo the ideas that popped into this little brain!!!! :)
As I walked around the store I was reminded once again of how many English songs are played here in Spain...an Amy Grant song playing through the store.
Another random thought...so I decided to go through the self check out at Ikea cause I was just buying one candle. Not so sure how it can be a self check out...if it only accepts cards and no cash...not even a slot to put cash or coin. I even asked an employee about it and she said that those machines are only cards and that I had to go to an actual cashier...Strange hey?

I made supper on Wednesday...a new recipe I found on Pin interest. Pretty good!

Chipotle Chicken Sweet Potato Skins

The past while Sierra has been playing with a sister. I will explain! As you know she only has two brothers! But she has this imaginary sister that comes out to play every so often.
So the other day David & Rosa took both boys out and Sierra and I stayed home. So we painted our nails and watched Cinderella (the original version). A little girl time!! This girl loves princesses and will not wear anything but dresses & skirts...she even wears her tights to bed! You should have seen her with her very own lip chap...she was almost giddy!!! So cute!

Speaking of siblings...Michael & I were talking the other day. He said "Miss Sarah do you have brothers?". I told him no but I do have a brother in-law. So I asked him if he would be my brother! He thought that would be a Great idea!!

By Saturday I was feeling much much better. So I was ready to go help out with decorating for a BBQ for about 40 people. It was a fun bunch of people working in Morocco. Don't worry I stayed far away from the kitchen!!! :).  We had Kabobs, rice, salad, bread, and punch. The cooks did an amazing job!

End of a School Year!

Yesterday was the round up party for homeschooling for these little ones. I found it funny that Peter (their little friend that home schools with them)...kept on saying..."When are we having the party?"...while we were having the party!!!! I'm sure it was not the activities!! They could not have been boring...a water balloon toss, a bubble machine, some of their favourites songs, twister, and another ball game they love...and a few other things!!! So we finally got it out of him that what he meant was that he was wondering when all the people were coming for the party. Well there were already 9 people there including him...and that's just the 2 moms, 4 homeschoolers, 1 1year old, and 1 dad, and myself. I guess that was not many in his mind!! Great Kid :)
*So the binder that I have in my hand in a couple of following pictures is a binder for each of them with the art that they did over the last few months.
Peter & I

Twister

Sierra & I

Bubbles

Michael & I

Jonathan & I

A picture of us all in a frame that has OUR TEACHER written along the edge of the frame. I did not have to open the gift...they did it for me. All four ripped it open in seconds!!
They also gave me a sweet card and money for Starbucks!! I will have to make a trip to the airport in the near future (that's were the only Starbucks down here is) :)

When we arrived Peter ran up to me and gave me an apple. An apple for a teacher!!! My first one! So sweet.

It was a good few months of homeschooling and they learnt so much. I'm very proud of them!
But at the same time as the teacher I am glad to be done for the summer!! In September the triplets will be going to an all Spanish school 5 days a week until 2pm everyday. So that will be a big change for everyone.
They are all pretending to be lions...Rarrr! (That's what they are all doing in this picture)

Last week the kids each got a little pet fish. When asked that day what her fish's name was, Sierra informed me that Kitty was the name! That's such an awesome name for a fish!!!! :) From then on the name has changed each day.
All the kids are going through a phase...when asked what the name of something is...it is their own name. For instance each of the boys fish's names are Jonathan & Michael.
This fish never made it till the next day!! So they had to run and get another one.

The other day while driving Jonathan told us he went fishing the other day...he told it like we all went with him!!. He caught such a big fish that it broke his net...then he pulled out an even bigger net from his pocket...and he got that fish!!

Guess what I found!!! In the International section of the store

Preparing for Canada Day!

So lucky that I have a Canadian friend here to celebrate Canada Day with. I totally would have celebrate by myself...but it's more fun with a friend.
So we made some maple leaf cookies with maple syrup icing. So yummy. We only ate a couple...we have lots to share on July 1st.

Ronda, Spain

So last Saturday I had to privilege to go on a little road trip with three other lovely ladies I know. We drove to Ronda which is only a couple of hours from here. Such a beautiful country!!!

Fields of Olive Trees

Legs of meat...a common site to see here...the smell makes me sick to my stomach!!

Spanish Tortilla (Egg & Potato)

Vegetable Paella...the yellow seasoning in it stained our teeth. Haha

Morocco (hills furthest away) & Gibraltar (the hill that looks like its in the middle of the water)

So that was just a glimpse of Ronda Spain and the trip to and from there. It was a fun day trip and had a great adventure with some friends.

No parents for a week!!!

Where do I start? What a week! With David & Rosa away for a week to Belguim...that meant that I was home with all the kids. Praise the Lord that they had a girl they know come and help. She is a real sweetheart. We worked well together and she has become a dear friend. Thank you sooo much Wendy!!! I seriously could not have done it without you! Also my dear friend Brigitte who was so kind enough to drive us a couple of times and made herself available if needed. So very much appreciated!

I made a menu for the week and David went and purchased most everything on the list before they left. We had plenty to eat. I was glad to be in the kitchen cause I do like to cook...made some deliously meals. Funny thing...cooking is actually relaxing to me...for the most part!

Made some homemade buns with egg salad inside! and Strawberry smoothies! Yum

Thankful face :)

This is a common sight...a gate to the kitchen so they can't get in. There are many squabbles there!!

Friday and Monday morning they have homeschooling at a friends home. So we had to get up a little earlier to catch the train at 8:38am. So we were out of the house by 8:20 to walk down there with the kids. They did great!!

While on the train on Friday morning Sierra informs me that we are on an alligator and that it will spit us out soon! When we get off all three kids wave and say goodbye to the alligator...with no prompting from me or Wendy!!
The guy that we sat beside on the train just smirked at the kids as the kids and I talked about the alligator. I was not totally sure if you understood English or if he was just amused that they were triplets.

A Fact (with a slight exaggeration): Jonathan asks 5million questions a day...and Michael asks 1million a day...and Sierra asks about a thousand. The majority of questions begin with "WHY". My answers are not getting as creative anymore...a lot of them are just..."Because I said so".

One afternoon when I was waking them up from a nap. Sierra turns to me and says "I am a jealous lady". I ask her why she is jealous. She had no answer...cause she really doesn't know the meaning. Then both boys pipe up..."I am a jealous man"!!! I just had to stand there and laugh.
Where they got the word jealous from: There is a bar that they walk by three times a week and the name of it is "Jealous"... in Spanish. So when Rosa tells them bed time stories they want a jealous man, lady, or animal. Even though they don't really know the meaning...but Rosa is trying to get the point across! But I thought it was funny...the first words that come out of Sierra's mouth after a nap..."I am a jealous lady".
That is her "hippo" that is actually a monkey.

This is what I saw as I opened the blinds after nap!!

Wendy and I brought the kids swimming twice this week. The first time went so well that we thought it would be great to go a second time. Yes it was ok for a while then they got a little too moody...so it was time to go back inside. There were more people at the pool that day and we were getting looks. But over all they did really well. They all have water wings and a round tube to swim in. We had to swim in the big pool that has no shallow end...and they did awesome!!!

One other afternoon we let them have a water fight on the porch. They had a blast!

Had to remind them not to squirt that water gun over the porch...cause it is strong enough to get people below walking in and out of the restaurant!!! funny...but not such a good idea :)

Yelling "Water Fight"

As we walk to and from Spanish nursery school..me pushing the 3seater stroller...in the heat of the day...yes even at 9:00am it's hot. Among the many questions from the kids and them waving to stranger...the boys common question is...why does that man not have a shirt on? Well it's summer, we are close to the beach, and boys are allowed to not have shirts on. The other question as we cross paths with someone on a motor cycle or scooter...why don't they have a helmet on? I just simply have to tell them that sometimes adults forget to put it on and it's not safe.
In Spain there are lots of motor cycles and scooters...and it's not just guys riding them...it's young and old guys and young and old ladies too!!!

Random fact: From Tuesday to Thursday (3days)...just walking to and from the kids Spanish school half of which is a hill... I walked 5 hours and 3hours of it was pushing the kids in their massive stroller.

So the kids were told that there will be some kids coming for a visit...and the youngest is a baby boy named Wilber. Not long ago they watched Charlottes Web. So the conversation was going great until they started calling the little (human) baby boy a piglet. Then not only was he a piglet...but also were his older siblings!!! So we corrected it...but I fear how it will go once they arrive in a couple of months!!!

Michael has an obsession with his clothes. He has one favorite pair of shorts, pants and a couple favorite t-shirts. This kid will wear them every day if you let him...he will wear them dirty...but not if they are wet. As he gets ready for bed at night he picks out his clothes for the next day...down to the underwear...and then sleeps with them...in his arms at times.

Ready to go to church!

It was a good week. Yes challenging and fun all at the same time! But we all survived...Praise the Lord. Yes I was super exhausted by the time David & Rosa got home yesterday. But they were gracious to let me have the day off to recover today. Tomorrow being Saturday I am looking forward to visiting with some friends and going to check out this town called Ronda...a couple hours drive from here. Apparently there is a really neat bridge there that's famous. I look forward to telling you about it!

I'm surprised that I haven't fallen flat on my face yet! It's easy to miss these and fall.

This is how coffee is served here. Hot coffee in a glass...with no handle!! good thing I like cold coffee cause that's how long I wait till I drink it!!

A common sight

One kind of random thing. I went with a group of ladies I know to a restaurant last week before David & Rosa left. We went to a Indian Mexican restaurant. When you think about it it's a strange combination. But it was really good!!
