So I have been here for a little over a week now! YAY!!! :)
Each day is getting easier in some ways as far as learning the daily routine for the triplets and their parents. Knowing what stuffed animal goes with what kiddo or what pair of shoes they like best. Or what color of dish each prefers...I will get it. I'm glad they know who's is who's!!!
They love to paint! Go on trips on their air plane (the couch)...to America, Canada, Spain, Madrid to name a few. The other day I asked Jonathan if he would send me a postcard when they got to Madrid...he promptly told me "They don't have postcards there". So with Jonathan as pilot with his bike helmet and bright green sunglasses. Michael with his super cool dark shades with white rims. Sierra with either her doll or her little stuffed bird....they are off on their adventure.
These kids love to sing....when they stand behind their little play kitchen thing...that is their church stage. They find what ever they can for drum sticks and guitar and microphone...and they are off!!!! singing at the TOP of their lungs and banging on the play kitchen thing with all they have in them...the poor neighbours!!!!
I cant remember if I wrote this in the last entry...but in Spain. Actual houses are very few...they all live in apartments. The sound is not always blocked!!!
For instance...the people on the wall behind my headboard...I know when they are home mostly in the evening after I am in bed. They are yelling at the kids to get in bed and other things in Spanish. Did you know that ear plugs just might be the best invention since sliced bread!!!
Spaniards don't go to bed early!!!! The kids will be still out playing at the playground across the street at 10:30-11:00 at night...this is not teens...like 6 and 7 year olds. They all seem to get up at a good time to get to school though.
At the apartment were I live there is a restaurant at the bottom of the building...it's a bit hard to explain. Their entrance faces one street and our entrance faces a different one. But anyway. most days I can smell whatever they are cooking. It doesn't seem to be the same smell everyday. I have not been down to see it yet but I did walk by it today when I went for a little walk. It must be the place to go when there is a game on TV...cause you know if the team is winning or not...cause they are totally into it either way!
I walked down to the grocery store today!! There are Lots of hills here...going down is not so bad. But walking back...humm. to say the least is a workout. I sure am going to be in shape when this year is over! Really grateful for the lovely benches at the top the hill :)
Anyway, I went to the grocery store...it was kinda like Superstore...for the people who live in western Canada. I walked to one part of the store and I seen cheese...OOo not any old Kraft cheese!!! A mouse would be set for his life and a couple of generations after him! lol Sooo many different kinds from different European countries. I didn't take any pictures...maybe next time. Most everything in the store I could not read, but a few words here and there. I had to look at the pictures for clues.
O the other thing that they had gallons of was olive oil...not the little containers that I'm use to. Huge containers. Just a regular grocery store...not Costco. But the people here use a lot of it...well with the thousands of olive trees they have here. Speaking of olives. I never was a big olive fan...those black olives are not that bad! I have probably eaten more olives in the past week or so than I have in my life. They are just apart of many of the dishes here.
A little off topic but I seen a lemon tree the other day and I seen a orange tree today.
So this week I got myself a nice little cold. I think it was just from the travelling, jet lag, temperature change for the most part. I think I am on the mend...still have a stuffy nose and a little weak, but hoping this week I kick this cold. I know you might giggle at me about this but the Kleenex box that Mr. Smith brought back from the store the other day...well each tissue is either purple or green. No I am not seeing things...but it did make my day. My garbage basket is looking pretty colorful these days :)
